Malcolm Everett “Mac” Highley 91 passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. He was the son of the late Everett and Callie Fowler Highley. He was an employee of Kentucky Utilities Company for 44 years and was a Kentucky Colonel. He loved to garden and watch the church league Softball but most of all he loved his family. Before becoming a member of the Gateway Christian Church he served a deacon at the Salt Lick Christian Church. He is survived by one daughter Sue Ann (Bill) Gay of Mt. Sterling, one son Charles David “CD” (Vickie) Highley of Mt. Sterling, Three grandchildren Jim (Cheryl) Gay of Mt. Sterling, Beth (Jim) Smiley of Livonia, Michigan, Scottie (Leslie) Highley of Mt. Sterling , six great grandchildren Laura Ragan Gay, Harrison Gay, Lauren Smiley, Alison Smiley, Jacob Highley and Hunter Highley, one sister Marie Staton of Owingsville, two nieces, four nephews and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Ann Razor Highley, two sisters Mae Berryman and Dot Riddle, two half-brothers Don and Ray Highley. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Gateway Christian Church with Graveside services at 2:30 PM at the Jones Cemetery in Salt Lick. The procession will leave the church at 1:30. Visitation will be held 5 till 8 PM Thursday at the Church. Serving as pallbearers will be John Thomas, Pete Donaldson, Greg Barnett, Brandon Coyle, Michael Staton, Robbie Coyle and Tommy Highley. Honorary Pallbearers Charles Stanley, Roger Early, Juan Walters, Dirk Pendleton, Gene McCarty, Jimmy Russell Reeve, Alvin Goldey, Tommy Stephens, Gary Orme, David Grayson, Melvin Stull, Charlie Hiler and Gary Ballard. In Lieu of Flowers contributions can be made to the Gateway Christian Church building fund at 801 Winchester Road Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
