John Chaney

John D. Chaney 71 of Alumbaugh, Estill County, KY widower of Peggy Lou Burns Chaney passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky after a short illness. He was born September 20, 1951 in Irvine to Archie Chaney and Stella Black Chaney. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, a retired employee of the Square D Corporation and a member of the Wagersville Pentecostal Church of God. He is survived by his son Jonathan Darin “JD” Chaney, a sister Martha Chaney Gay of Covington, two brothers Edmon Chaney and wife Wanda of Lexington Archie S. Chaney and wife Millie of Frankfort and his beloved pet Tiny, two special nieces Dreama and Tassie , a very special little girl Alayna and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brother’s in-law, Annabelle (Charles M) Bailey, Katherine Chaney (Eugene) Tipton, Diana Faye Chaney Brandenburg, Betty Chaney (Wilse) Alcorn, and Margaret Lee Chaney (Hubert) Williams, and one brother and sister in-law Charley Henry (Priscilla Bailey) Chaney. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Hoover Cemetery in Alumbaugh, KY. In lieu of flowers family ask donations be made to the Compassionate Care Center in John's honor. Grayson Funeral Home in Irvine is in charge of services.
