He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Stanton a former Powell County Deputy Sheriff and a former Powell County Deputy Jailer where he served for 10 years. He is survived by two sons Lee Bishop and his wife Brenda of Smyrna Beach, Florida and Glenn Bishop and his wife Chris of Smyrna Beach, Florida, two daughters Barbara Klaber and her husband Rusty of Frenchburg and Betty Jo Rogers of Clay City, two brothers Melvin and Ernest Rogers of Stanton, one sister Lois Clark of West Liberty, Eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents

Bonnie Richardson 56 of Mt. Sterling the wife of Jerry Richardson passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was a former Manager of Cracker Barrel and a member of the Gateway Church of God. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Jerry Richardson of Mt. Sterling, two brothers John Clay Baker and his wife Lorraine of Mt. Sterling, Elwood Baker of Jeffersonville, three sisters Delphia Jones of Mt. Sterling, Betty Jane Baker of Jackson and Ruthie Shelley of Winchester. She was a housewife and a member of the Powell’s Valley Baptist Church.
