He is survived by seven sons Randall, Larry, Richard, David, Jerry, Ronald and Ernest Townsend, three daughters Freda Anderson, Teresa Shoemaker and Debra Berryman, two brothers Ralph and Gerald Townsend, two sisters Nancy Burton and Ruby Moore, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Elizabeth Townsend, wife Mary Townsend, two daughters Geraldine Hall and Anna Sue Patrick.
